Day 99 of 100 Days

My penultimate day! In amazing news, the IPL started back up today, so I didn’t have too long to wait with no cricket (although the South Africa v Pakistan tour has been quite entertaining). I can’t believe tomorrow is my last day of 100 days of volunteering. We’re visiting my partner’s parents to sit in their garden tomorrow, then I’m going to do a Shout shift when we get home.

What: Shopping for my neighbour
Organisation: Age UK

Today, I went to Asda to do some shopping for my neighbour, Lady S. They STILL don’t have the right brand of squash in Asda that Lady S’s daughter drinks. Her daughter has OCD, so will only drink a particular brand, and Asda have been out of stock for weeks now. Poor Lady S is really worried, because her daughter won’t drink enough if she doesn’t have it. In more positive news, I was able to get some mroe climber plants for my partner's mum. Asda are pretty well-stocked in clematis plants.

I also tried calling Lady T again today, but there was no answer. I’m a bit worried, so I'll drop Age UK a note to see if they can check-in on her too - it's been two weeks and I think it's a long time to not speak with her. I know she wasn’t feeling too well, so I hope she’s okay, it’s unlike her to not answer her phone for this long. We've been speaking for almost a year now and I can't believe it's gone so quickly.

The Duke of Edinburgh died today, which is really sad – I was really hoping he’d get to 100. He’s been very poorly recently, and it’s one of those things where it’s not a huge shock, but it’s always a shock to hear. I also found out yesterday that my neighbour died last week – he’d also been poorly for a really long time. My partner bumped into his son, and that's how we found out. I popped a card into the letterbox and I tried to find a nice plant for her at Asda but couldn't. They were all either outdoor or fake plants, and Mrs A loves her plants, so I didn't want to go fake.

One day more... eeek!
