Day 89 of 100 Days

Today, I got my first letter from my pen pal! I’m so chuffed, Lady A seems absolutely lovely. She sent me a letter, but also sent me a lovely homemade card with a bumble bee on it. I called my telephone friend today, but no answer. I'll try again on Friday...
What: Auction fulfilment
Organisation: Dons Local Action Group
Today was a strange day, and nothing really went as I had planned it. While I'm not averse to working tactically, I usually like to know what I'm going to get up to each day, and I had planned on doing some quiz stuff for Bat For A Chance and Cricket Without Boundaries - but that will now have to wait until tomorrow. This is no big deal, as I do have the time, but still, I feel ike I was thrown a bit of a curve ball (or a Jimmy Anderson swinger).
I ended up working on DLAG today, namely the auction, which is still producing more surprises! We hit a few speedbumps with there being a need for a few refunds and prizes going to second-highest bidders. I won't bore you with the details, because it's all a bit dull and basically involved some emails, phone calls and chasing.
I also got an email completely out of the blue from a foundation that funds small charities like DLAG. I applied to them for a grant last September and didn’t hear anything back until today. He emailed me saying that he lives in Wimbledon and would love to find a way to support us. This is a real stroke of luck and will provide much-needed funds to support DLAG and their food hub. What a result!
