Day 78 of 100 Days
Friday, 19th March 2021
It was a bit of a mixed day today, with just the one volunteering job, a bit of studying, an exam and sowing some seeds for the summer. I planted a load more tomato plants (black cherry variety, in case you were wondering), and some courgette plants. I planted courgettes last year without realising that there’s such a thing as round courgettes, so was really alarmed when they came through spherically-shaped. There’s nothing like freshly-harvested courgettes, last year’s batch were delicious and plentiful.
What: 48 Hour Relay
Organisation: Only A Pavement Away
Today, I had a quick catch-up with Karen and Greg about crowdfunding, and we're all set to launch our campaign in the mid-year with a fair bit of planning still to go, under the mentorship of Brewdog crowdfunding guru, Sarah W. I also managed to design some social media graphics for the 48 Hour Relay we’re doing, which was good to do.
To fill up the rest of my day, I also did some swotting-up on Google and took an exam to get my Google Ads Display Certification. One of the things I’ve decided that I’m going to do over the next few weeks is plough my way through all of the courses on the Google Skillshop and swot up on my AdWords. While I have no intention of carving out a career in acquisition, I would really like to focus on Ad Grants, which is what is available for free to charities. If one were to really simplify it, it's essentially a Fisher-Price version of the full Ad Grants suite, and really good if you are learning about AdWords because you still get to practise the basics.
I also tried calling Lady T again, but there was no answer. I sent her a birthday card, which she should get by Saturday. I used some of my son’s artwork to make it and he signed his name too. Sometimes I don’t hear from Lady T for a bit because she doesn’t feel like talking, which is fair enough, but it doesn’t usually last more than a week, so hopefully she'll answer on Tuesday.
