Day 40 of 100 Days

40% into my challenge! Another milestone reached. I spent most of my day playing catch-up with a few things and even made time to attend a webinar on building a portfolio career in the charity sector. I had a catch-up with Ian from Charity Excellence Framework, who has become a bit of a mentor to me. I still don’t have a proper plan as to what I'm actually going to do yet, but Ian always asks challenging questions of me which usually drive me closer to an answer!
I just did the one volunteering task today, which felt really quiet compared to my very busy Monday of Zooming around. It's coming up to a year since I started volunteering with Age UK, and it's such an easily enjoyable volunteer role. I just like chatting and making friends.
What: Telephone Befriending
Organisation: Age UK
Lady T hasn’t heard anything about her Covid jab yet, but I’ve told her to try calling her GP because she might be able to get a jab on account of her vulnerability. It’s been snowing, so it’s been really difficult to get out. It’s bloody freezing. My mum, who lives in Weymouth (where they’ve been offering vaccinations all over town) was given a vaccination appointment in Yeovil, which is in a different county. If Lady T is offered a jab down in Croydon, she certainly won’t be able to get down there - and whild I'd love to help, I can't drive and even if I could, I don't think she'll be getting in a car with anyone. I’ve offered to do some shopping for her if she needs it, she lives quite close to the Asda I go to for Lady S. That means I can hit two birds with one stone (or two Age UK friends with one shopping trip).
